Paul Secor founded Secor Strategies, LLC in 2009. The small business, which is located in Titusville, Florida next to the Kennedy Space Center, provides program management services to space education and space research initiatives.
In early 2021, Paul became intrigued with NFTs after listening to Gary Vaynerchuk discuss his Veefriends NFT project. Paul minted his first NFT, a Veefriends token, in May of 2021. He immediately experienced buyer’s remorse and was afraid to tell his friends he spent $1,500 on a .jpg image of a hand drawn beaver. The regret quickly transformed into enthusiasm as the value of the “beaver” grew, and Paul went down the rabbit hole of buying and selling NFTs. He set a goal to pay for his daughter’s first year of college by trading NFTs. He reached the goal in May of 2022, and was plain lucky that this goal caused him to get a good chunk of money out before the bear market hit. He still holds his Veefriend’s Beaver token, which is still worth far more than he paid, but is also worth 20% of its all-time high value.
Currently, Paul is developing his own NFT collection called Spaceflight50, which is designed to commemorate the first 50 years of US Spaceflight. The collection covers everyday of every space mission from each NASA program. These programs include Mercury, Gemini, Apollo, Skylab and Space Shuttle. The collection plans to be released in mid 2023.
Paul has dedicated himself to studying the NFT industry and analyzing which NFT collections have realized success and why. He is particularly interested in evaluating collections which have venture capital investment, unique business models, or significant utility.
